Roadworthy certificate FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most often at the workshop.

Booking

Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes, booking is required. We work by appointment so we can allocate the right time for your vehicle type. Call 0422 285 777 to lock in a time, or submit a quote request on this website and we will come back to you with availability.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Usually one or two business days is enough. Same-day appointments do come up when a slot opens, so it is always worth calling to check. If you have a firm deadline such as a settlement date, book as early as you can.
Can I drop the vehicle off without waiting?
Yes. Many customers drop off in the morning and collect the same afternoon once the inspection is complete. Let us know at the time of booking that you plan to leave it and we will note it.
What are your opening hours?
The workshop is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. We are closed on weekends and public holidays. Call 0422 285 777 for the current schedule.
Can I book online?
You can submit a quote request through the form on this website and we will contact you to confirm a time. If you need a confirmed slot quickly, calling directly is the fastest option.

Pricing

How much does a car roadworthy certificate cost?
Car RWC inspections start from $69.99 at our Yeerongpilly workshop. The final price depends on the vehicle type and condition. Call or send an enquiry and we will confirm the price for yours before you book.
Is the price different for Uber or rideshare vehicles?
Rideshare inspections follow the same Queensland roadworthy standard as a private car RWC, so the pricing is comparable. Call us with your vehicle details and we will give you an accurate figure.
How much does a trailer RWC cost?
Trailer roadworthy pricing depends on the trailer size and type. Call 0422 285 777 with the trailer details and we can quote you accurately.
Do I pay if the vehicle does not pass?
The inspection fee is payable regardless of the outcome, as the inspection work is carried out either way. If a re-inspection is needed after repairs, we will advise on costs when we discuss the defects.
Are there extra charges for older or modified vehicles?
Older vehicles can take more time to inspect thoroughly, and modified vehicles may require additional assessment steps. We will advise on any variation from the standard price before the inspection begins.

The inspection process

What does a roadworthy inspection cover?
A Queensland roadworthy inspection checks that the vehicle meets the minimum safety standards set by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. This covers tyres, brakes, lights, steering, suspension, seats and seatbelts, body and chassis condition, glass, and other safety-related components. It is not a mechanical service and does not cover all vehicle faults.
How long does the inspection take?
Most car inspections take around 30 to 45 minutes. Trailers and rideshare vehicles may take a similar time. We will give you a more specific estimate when you book.
What happens if my vehicle fails?
The inspector will document the items that did not meet the standard and explain what is needed to rectify them. You can choose to have the repairs done before a re-inspection. You do not need to pay for a full inspection again if the re-inspection is done within the prescribed timeframe and covers only the failed items.
Will the inspector fix issues found during the inspection?
The inspection and any repair work are quoted and agreed separately. If you want us to carry out the repairs so the vehicle passes, we can discuss that as a follow-up. We do not bundle inspection and repair costs automatically.
What do I need to bring to the inspection?
Bring the vehicle and the current registration papers if available. Make sure the vehicle has fuel, that all lights work (including indicators), and that there are no warning lights showing that would affect the result.

Specific services

Do you inspect Uber, DiDi and other rideshare vehicles?
Yes. We issue roadworthy certificates for Uber, DiDi, Ola, and other rideshare platforms operating in Queensland. The certificate meets the requirements of each platform. Bring the vehicle and your driver ID to the appointment.
Do you do trailer roadworthy inspections?
Yes. We inspect box trailers, car trailers, cage trailers, and boat trailers. The trailer must be registered or pending registration. Call with the trailer type and dimensions so we can set aside the right amount of time.
Do you handle mod plate inspections?
Yes. We assist with mod plate inspections and paperwork for modified vehicles. The process depends on the modification type and may involve liaising with Queensland Transport. Call to discuss your specific vehicle and modification before booking.
Do you offer logbook servicing?
Yes. We carry out scheduled logbook servicing following the manufacturer service intervals. Logbook servicing at an independent workshop does not void a new car warranty under Australian consumer law, provided genuine or equivalent parts are used and the work is documented.
What vehicle types do you inspect?
We inspect cars, rideshare vehicles (Uber, DiDi, Ola), and trailers. We are a workshop-based service. All vehicles need to be driven or transported to 1005 Fairfield Road, Yeerongpilly. We do not carry out inspections at the customer's location.
